I’m a Mumbai-based writer and assistant director working in movies and commercials. I spend an inordinate amount of time debating movies, books and the state of humanity with anything that shows signs of life.

Two books have deeply influenced the way I look at life. The first is Mirrors – The Stories of Almost Everyone by the late Uruguayan legend Mr Eduardo Galeano who teaches us to look at history through the eyes of the loser. The second is Mindfulness in Plain English by Bhante Gunaratna who illustrates the benefits of Dhamma and Vipassana meditation while staying away from any sectarian practices.

You see, there are a lot of things that I fiercely believe in and I’d like to say those things aloud. I feel writing books and making movies is the best ways to do that.

This blog is my public notebook. It grew wings because of Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. A concept called Stock and Flow particularly caught my attention.

“In my experience, your stock is best made by collecting, organizing, and expanding upon your flow. Social media sites function a lot like public notebooks—they’re places where we think out loud, let other people think back at us, then hopefully think some more. But the thing about keeping notebooks is that you have to revisit them in order to make the most out of them. You have to flip back through old ideas to see what you’ve been thinking. Once you make sharing part of your daily routine, you’ll notice themes and trends emerging in what you share. You’ll find patterns in your flow.”

Now for the hard-sell: I take up commercial writing assignments. I write scripts, feature stories and treatment notes. If you have a job for me, please get in touch without hesitation. I’m so approachable it’s laughable.
